Customize metric display properties

Before you begin

You can customize the following properties for the way in which each metric is displayed in a chart:

Metric name
Marker symbol used for the metric in the chart viewport
Color used for marker symbol.

To customize a metric's display properties:

From the View List, open the view containing one or more charts whose metric display properties you want to change.
Select the metric legend menu and choose Properties.
The Metric Properties dialog box is displayed.
Change one or more of the following display properties, as appropriate:
- Name
- Marker symbol
- Marker color

Result

The customized metric display properties you have made to a chart are automatically persisted and in effect only for your user account and only in the current domain. They are available to you the next time you launch the Monitoring Dashboard. Note, however, that polled metric values that are displayed in built-in and custom views are not persisted after you close the Monitoring Dashboard window.
