Before you begin

Follow the general instructions for creating a Generic or GridLink data source. An Oracle driver and Oracle data base that supports Application Continuity is required.

To create a data source that enables Application Continuity (transaction replay):

  1. In the Domain Structure tree, expand Services, then select Data Sources.
  2. On the Summary of Data Sources page, click New and select Generic Data Source or GridLink Data Source.
  3. When asked to select a Database driver from the drop-down menu, select the appropriate driver that supports Application Continutity for your environment.
  4. Complete the steps necessary to create the data source.
  5. On the Summary of Data Sources page, click the data source name you created.
  6. Select the Configuration: Oracle tab.
  7. Optionally, enter the name of the callback in the Connection Initialization Callback field.
  8. Optionally, you can change the Replay Initiation Timeout value for your environment.
  9. Click Save.
  10. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
