Oracle WebCenter Content is part of the Oracle WebCenter product stack, to provide the most complete, open, and unified enterprise content management platform.

This section describes the upgrade issues and workarounds. It includes the following topics:
Section 2.3.1, "Upgrade restriction in unpatched PS5 version"
Section 2.3.2, "Difference between install and upgraded CS schemas"
If a customer has a PS5 instance and has not applied the patch for bug 13723409 for changing the application name and have not configured the server which reflects the changed application name, then it doesn't meet the pre-upgrade configuration and upgrade should not be tried as the CS schema will not be discovered.
The workaround to upgrade this type of PS5 instance is to configure the server correctly.
Install the patch which contains bug 13723409 for the application name change to: Oracle Universal Content Management - Content Server.
Verify the patch install by redeploying the CS application in the existing domain. If there was no existing CS application in the domain then the new CS application will be created with the new application name. This will ensure that the CS schema gets discovered.
An error in the schema comparison of tables was noticed after upgrade was run successfully, when PS6 WebCenter Content was upgraded to 12.2.1.
The workaround: instead of using DATA_LENGTH
, use CHAR_LENGTH
.
CHAR_LENGTH
provides information on the maximum number of characters the column contains.
There are no known issues at this time.
