The following topics introduce the new and changed features of Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle ADF) and other significant changes, which are described in this guide.
Oracle Fusion Middleware Release 12c (12.2.1.1) of Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle ADF) includes the following new and changed development features, which are described in this guide.
Consuming Web Services Using the ADF Model Layer describes the enhanced RESTful web service data control. Enhancements include:
Added a new section to describe how to create a data control for a RESTful web service using a connection to the web service and schema for the methods that you want to invoke. Also noted that for GET methods, the application creates a schema automatically by making a GET call to the specified resource. See section How to Create a Data Control for a RESTful Web Service.
Added a new section to describe how to use an action binding to access the Response HTTP Header parameter of a RESTful web service. See section How to Access Response HTTP Headers for a RESTful Web Service.
Revised a section to clarify that when you specify an HTTP payload method, the Web Services Data Control generates a schema for specified operations (GET, POST, PUT, or DELETE) and displays the input parameters for each operations separately in the Data Control palette. While designing a page, you can use these input parameters for the operations and can drop on a page as an editable form. See section What You May Need to Know About Web Service Data Controls.
Added a new section to describe how to define security for the data control using the Edit Data Control Policies dialog. See section How to Define RESTful Web Service Data Control Security.
