Before you begin
Prior to creating partition-scoped, managed scheduled executor
service (MSES) templates, you must first have created or imported a
domain partition. See Create Domain Partitions or Import partitions.
You can create MSES templates that can be used by applications to
execute submitted tasks asynchronously at specific times within exisitng
domain partitions.
To create a partition-scoped
MSES template:
- If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).

In the left
pane of the Console, expand Environment and
select Concurrent Templates.
The Concurrent Manage Object Templates table displays in the
right pane showing all the CMO templates defined in the domain.

Click
New and select Managed Scheduled
Executor Service Template from the list.

Enter a name for the new MSES template.

From the Scope drop-down list, select the
name of the partition in which you want to use this MSES
template.

Optionally, enter additional configuration information for this
MSES template:
- Dispatch Policy - The name of Work
Manager to use for this MSES template. When left blank, the default
Work Manager is used.
- Long Running Threads Priority - An
integer that specifies the long running daemon thread's priority. If
specified, all long running threads are affected.
- Max Concurrent Long Running Requests
- The maximum number of concurrent long-running tasks submitted to
this MSES template in the domain.

Click Finish.
- To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
Result
The new partition-scoped MSES template appears in the Concurrent
Managed Object Templates table and in the domain partition configuration
under Domain Partitions > partition-name > Concurrent
Templates.
