Configure HTTP protocol

Before you begin

The server instance for which you configure the HTTP protocol does not need to be running.

Note: If automatic realm restart is enabled in the default security realm, you do not need to restart WebLogic Server after activating non-dynamic changes to the SSL configuration. See Enable automatic realm restart and Using Automatic Realm Restart.

To configure the HTTP protocol:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane of the Console, expand Environment and select Servers.
  3. On the Summary of Servers page, select the server instance you want to configure.
  4. Select Protocols > HTTP and update as needed. See Configuration Options.
  5. Click Save.
  6. To enable tunneling of connections, select Protocols > General:
    1. Select Enable Tunneling.
    2. Provide values for Tunneling Client Ping and Tunneling Client Timeout.

Note: These settings apply to all protocols in the server's default network configuration that support tunneling.

See Setting Up WebLogic Server for HTTP Tunneling.

    3. Click Save.
  7. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).

After you finish

Changes on the Servers: Protocols: General page take effect without requiring you to restart the server.

If you made changes on the Servers: Protocols: HTTP page, restart the server.
