Use keyboard shortcuts


The following keyboard shortcuts are described:

General Shortcuts for the Monitoring Dashboard
Key Item selected in Monitoring Dashboard Action
Enter Any button Presses the button.
Tab Any item Selects the next active control in the Monitoring Dashboard. If a dialog box or menu has focus, pressing Tab repeatedly cycles through each item until that dialog box or menu is dismissed.
Shift + Tab Any item Selects the previous active control in the Monitoring Dashboard. (If a dialog box or menu has focus, the Shift key has no effect.)
Space bar Any check box Selects or de-selects the check box.
Space bar or Delete Any text entry field Clears the field.
Escape Any menu or dialog box Dismisses the menu or dialog box.
Delete Any text entry field Clears the field.

Keyboard Shortcuts for View Display Panel
Key Item selected in view display panel Action
Right arrow Any Selects the next chart in the view. Repeatedly pressing right arrow cycles through all the charts in the view.
Left arrow Any Selects the previous chart in the view. Repeatedly pressing left arrow cycles through all the charts in the view.
Up arrow Any Selects the chart above the current one. If the current chart is at the top of the view, pressing up arrow selects the bottom chart in the column containing the current chart. Pressing up arrow repeatedly cycles through all the charts in the current column.
Down arrow Any Selects the chart below the current one. If the current chart is at the bottom of the view, pressing down arrow selects the top chart in the column containing the current chart. Pressing down arrow repeatedly cycles through all the charts in the current column.
Ctrl+Left arrow Any time series chart When focus is on any chart, pressing Ctrl+Left arrow pans the chart display box to the left, showing earlier data values. When focus is on the chart display box, pressing Ctrl+Left arrow moves the current point one place to the left.

Holding the Shift key while pressing Ctrl+Left arrow moves the current point ten places to the left.

Note: If the currently selected control contains a gauge, pressing this key sequence has no effect.
Ctrl+Right arrow Any time series chart When focus is on any chart, pressing Ctrl+Right arrow pans the chart display box to the right, showing later data values. When focus is on any point in a graph within the chart, pressing Ctrl+Right arrow moves the current point one place to the right.

Holding the Shift key while pressing Ctrl+Right arrow moves the current point ten places to the right.

Note: If the currently selected chart contains a gauge, pressing this key sequence has no effect.
Ctrl+Up arrow, or Ctrl+Down arrow Any graph point or on a gauge Cycles through all the metrics in a chart. On time series charts, pressing Ctrl+Up arrow, or Ctrl+Down arrow, cycles through all the metrics for the currently selected time.
Plus (+) Any time series chart Zooms in on the current chart. Each time you press the plus key (+), the time frame of the chart becomes shorter. Pressing the plus key (+) in a gauge chart has no effect.
Hyphen (-) Any time series chart Zooms out on the current chart. Each time you press the hyphen key (-), the time frame of the chart becomes greater. Pressing the hyphen key (-) in a gauge chart has no effect.
Zero (0) Any time series chart Resets the default time frame for the chart.

Keyboard Shortcuts for the View List
Key Item selected in View List Action
Down arrow Any view name Selects the next item in the View List, which can be either an individual view or a folder containing one or more views.
Up arrow Any view name Selects the previous item in the View List, which can be either an individual view or a folder containing one or more views.
Right arrow Collapsed view folder Expands the folder to show the individual views within.
Left arrow Expanded view folder Collapses the folder to hide the individual views within.
Tab Any Selects the explorer panel. If you subsequently press Enter, the explorer panel is collapsed and the view display panel is expanded.

Keyboard Shortcuts for the Metric Browser
Key Item selected in Metric Browser Action
Tab Any Selects the next active control in the Metric Browser, which can be a button, a filter field, a list, or an entry in a list. If a list has focus, pressing Tab selects either first entry in that list or an entry that is already highlighted. If a metric has focus, pressing Tab selects the explorer panel.
Shift + Tab Any Selects the previous active control.
Down arrow or right arrow An entry in a list box Selects the next entry in the list box.
Up arrow or left arrow An entry in a list box Selects the previous item in the list box
Ctrl + C A metric name Copies the selected metric onto the Clipboard so that it can be added to a chart.
