Configure resource deployment plans

Before you begin

Prior to creating resource overrides in a domain partition, you must have first defined the resource you want to override.

A resource deployment plan is an XML file that overrides attributes for one or more resources within a single partition. Each partition can have at most one resource deployment plan which can override any resources in that partition. This includes resources defined in resource group templates to which the partition's resource groups refer as well as resources declared directly in the resource groups. For more information about resource deployment plans, see Configuring Resource Overrides.

First you must create the resource deployment plan. See resource-deployment-plan Syntax and Sample Resource Deployment Plan for more information. You then associate the resource deployment plan with a pre-exisiting partition.

To associate a resource deployment plan with a pre-exisiting partition:

  1. In the left pane of the Console, select Domain Partitions.

The Domain Partitions table displays all of the partitions defined in the domain.

  2. Click on the name of the domain partition with which you want to associate a resource deployment plan.
  3. Select the Domain Partition Configuration > General page.
  4. In the Resource Deployment Plan Path field, provide the by path to the resource deployment plan XML file.
  5. Click Save.

After you finish

If the resource is running, you must restart the partition for the overrides to take effect.
