What’s New
To know about the new features and enhancements in this release, see What’s New for Oracle WebCenter Content.
Known Issues
For known issues in Oracle WebCenter Application Adapters, Oracle WebCenter Content, and Oracle WebCenter Enterprise Capture, see Known Issues for Oracle WebCenter Content.
Intent to Deprecate
Following components will be deprecated in a future release:
The Folders_g component: customers should make plans to migrate to FrameworkFolders.
The Kofax Capture scripts components for Kofax 10.2.
Note:
These components are supported in releases 12.2.1.3.0, 12.2.1.2.0, 12.2.1.1.0, and 12.2.1.Deprecated in Release 12.2.1.3.0
The Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) feature is deprecated. See Deprecation of Oracle Multimedia Support for DICOM.
The WebCenter Content XDS Connector allows Oracle WebCenter Content and the WebCenter Content Server to act as a repository in a Cross Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS) exchange for medical content. This XDS connector is no longer supported in this release.
The Digital Asset Manager was configured to work with Telestream FlipFactory versions 7.1 and 7.2. In this release, due to the age of the components and security concerns around the age of the embedded jar files, the plug in for FlipFactory is no longer available in the software. However, if required, you can continue to use the components available in the previous releases. See Working With Image and Video Conversions in Managing Oracle WebCenter Content, 12c (12.2.1.2.0) release.
The WebCenter Content Storage Connector for Microsoft SharePoint is deprecated. However, the existing deployments of the WCC Storage Connector for Microsoft SharePoint will continue in accordance with the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy.
Deprecated in Release 12.2.1
WebCenter Content IRM
WebCenter Content CPS (Content Portlet Suite)
WebCenter Content SharePoint WebParts
WebCenter Content Dynamic Converter Template Editor (Transit)
WebCenter Content Tracker Reports
WebCenter Content URM Adapters
WebCenter Content Integrated JSP TomCat Support
Deprecated in Release 11.1.1.9
The IPM configuration command refreshIPMSecurity is deprecated.
Not Supported in 12c
Ephox Editor is not included in the Site Studio component in the 12c releases, and is not released as a patch.
If you are upgrading from 11.1.1.x.0 to a higher 11g version, then upgrade the Site Studio component without uninstalling it, and Ephox Editor would still be available. With a 12c install/upgrade the Ephox Editor is lost and you will have to use the option to add your own editor as described in Changing the Default Contributor Editor in the Managing Oracle Site Studio guide.

For upgrade information, see:
Upgrade restriction in unpatched PS5 version
If a customer has a PS5 instance and has not applied the patch for bug 13723409 for changing the application name and has not configured the server which reflects the changed application name, then it doesn't meet the pre-upgrade configuration and upgrade should not be tried as the CS schema will not be discovered.
The workaround to upgrade this type of PS5 instance is to configure the server correctly.
Install the patch which contains bug 13723409 for the application name change to: Oracle Universal Content Management - Content Server.
Verify the patch install by redeploying the CS application in the existing domain. If there was no existing CS application in the domain then the new CS application will be created with the new application name. This will ensure that the CS schema gets discovered.
