By default, the local server
log file is located in the logs
directory below the
server instance root directory; for example,
DOMAIN_NAME\servers\SERVER_NAME\logs\SERVER_NAME.log
,
where DOMAIN_NAME is the name of the directory in
which you located the domain and SERVER_NAME the name
of the server instance.
To change the default name or location of a server's local log file:
Enter an absolute pathname or a pathname that is relative to the server's root directory. If you use the Node Manager to start a Managed Server, the root directory is located on the computer that hosts the Node Manager process. For more information, see A Server's Root Directory.
For information about including a time and date stamp in the server log's file name, see Rotate log files.
