Create a Resource Consumption Manager

Use resource managers to ensure the fairness of resource allocation and to reduce the contention of shared resources by collocated domain partitions in the server instance. See Configuring Resource Consumption Management.

To create a resource manager:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the Domain Structure tree, expand Environment, then select Resource Management.
  3. On the Summary of Resource Managers page, click New.
  4. On the Resource Manager Properties page, enter or select the following information:

Name - Enter a name for this resource manager.

Scope - Specifies if the resource manager is accessible within the domain or a partition.

Notes - Provide any additional information that describes the configuration of this resource manager.

  5. Click OK.
  6. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
