Configure resource group templates

After you create a resource group template you must configure its resources.

To configure the resource group template:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane of the Console, expand Environment and select Resource Group Templates.
  3. On the Summary of Resource Group Templates page, select the instance you want to configure.

If the table is empty, refer to Create a new resource group template.

  4. Select the Deployments page to view the applications deployed to this resource group template.
  5. To configure deployment options for applications and modules in the resource group template, first select the application name, and then select Configuration.
  6. To install a new application or module for deployment to this resource group template, select Deployments in the Domain Structure pane and click Install. See Deploying Applications to Resource Group Templatesfor information on deploying applications to resource groups at the domain level.
  7. Select the Services page and update the services as necessary. You can update the following services:
    • JDBC
    • JMS
    • Bridges
    • Mail
    • Concurrent Utilities
    • Persistent Stores
    • Path Services
    • Foreign JNDI Providers
    • WLDF
    • SAF Agents
    • OSGi Frameworks
See Configuring Resource Group Templates for more information.
  8. Save your changes.
  9. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
