Understanding Joint Venture-Based Allocations

Review the setup tasks that are required for advanced variable numerator allocations for the joint venture-based allocations process:

  • Creating data selection versions for source and basis accounts over F0006, F0901, and F0902 tables in the R09123B program.

  • Creating data selection versions for source and basis values over F09J30 table in the R09J30S program.

  • Setting up specifications for source, basis, destination, and offset accounts in the P09123 program.

  • Printing the specifications for source, basis, destination, and offset accounts in the R09123A program.

  • Calculating the source, basis, destination, and offset amounts in the R09123 program.

Typically, after you complete the setup tasks for allocations, revise the specifications and test the output until you are satisfied with the results. After the initial setup, revise the specifications only if you receive new requirements or a change occurs in the organization.

On a routine basis, calculate allocations based on the specifications that you set up. Calculating allocations is the final and recurring step in the allocation process. To do this, you run the Compute Advanced Variable Numerator Allocations program (R09123).
