Copying Statement Definitions (Release 9.2 Update)

You can copy an existing statement definition to create a new statement definition. When you copy a statement definition, you must name the newly created statement definition with a unique name. You can retain or change all of the other parameters of the new statement definition, including the row and column definitions for the statement definition. Changes that you make are subject to the same validations as the system applies when you create a new statement definition using the Add function. For example, if you add a data row definition to a section that does not have the same grouping elements as the other rows in the section, the system issues an error message.

The system copies category code values if category codes are associated with the statement definition that you copy. You can change or retain the category code values.

The copy function for statement definitions also copies any versions that are associated with the statement definition, and the data selection associated with the copied versions. The system does not copy statement layouts. The copy function clears the values for the layout and output format from the version when it copies versions.
