Using Charts

Charts enable you to view data in a graphical format to help you quickly and easily analyze data that is relevant to your job role. A UX One page displays the charts associated with a specific role. Data visualization in these charts is enabled by Oracle JET (Java Extension Toolkit). Charts use external forms that enable you to directly interact with external applications within the EnterpriseOne web client.

See Understanding External Forms in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools Form Design Aid Guide for more information.

Charts improve productivity by providing you with better visibility into operational data as part of your standard daily business process. These charts are based on specific EnterpriseOne applications, and they can be bar (column), line, or pie charts.

To use charts, you build queries to interrogate data on an ad hoc basis. These charts are based on specific EnterpriseOne applications or business views. By default, the charts are set up to render using queries that are based on demo data. Each of these queries is associated with a specific program version. To use a different query or call a different program version, you can modify these queries or create new queries that better meet your requirements. It is recommended that you review the delivered queries, and use them as a guide when creating new queries for your charts, as queries often include data that is required for the chart to render correctly.

Each chart component displays a title, the menu icon, and Minimize and Popup Content icons. Click the Popup Content icon to expand the chart to view additional details. It is recommended to expand the chart while working on queries.

Hovering over a bar, line, or pie piece in a chart displays information about the data type series, group by value, and data value. Each chart on a UX One page displays a legend on the right side of the chart, listing all of the data types appearing in a chart. This information helps you to identify each data type in the chart. Each data type in the legend is represented by a single color and displays a description of the data type. Hovering over a data type in the legend highlights the corresponding data in the chart. Clicking a data type in the legend hides the corresponding data in the chart and reformats the chart. You can redisplay the data in the chart by clicking the data type again.
