| Field or Control | Description |
|---|---|
|
Phone Number |
Enter your phone number. Prefix your phone number with the country code. Do not include any other non-numeric characters such as spaces, dashes, periods, or parenthesis. The phone number is displayed in the format that you specified or the default format on the My Preferences - General Settings page. After entering your phone number, you have to verify the number. For more information, see the Verifying Phone Number and Obtaining Consent for Text Notifications section later in this topic. |
|
I agree to verify my phone number |
Select this check box to verify your phone number. Selecting this check box sends a one-time verification code to your phone, which you need to enter in the subsequent dialog box that appears. On successful verification of the number, the Phone number verified message is displayed. For more information, see the Verifying Phone Number and Obtaining Consent for Text Notifications section later in this topic. |
|
I agree to give my consent |
Select this check box only if you wish to receive text messages. Note: Selecting this check box enables the Text option on any notification type that has text defined as an option. However, you still must select or provide a phone number to receive text messages. |
|
Revoke Consent |
Click this button to revoke your consent to receive text messages. Revoking consent will also reset and disable the text option on any notification type that has the text option configured as available. |
|
Suspend Text Notifications |
Click this button to temporarily suspend delivery of notifications as a text message. No personalizations are reset when you suspend text notifications. |
|
|
Click the Choose button to select a different email address or phone number on which to receive notifications. |
|
Notifications Delivery |
Select the delivery options for each listed notification: In-App (the Notifications panel), Email, and Text. Note: Some notification categories do not allow personalization and are not displayed here. In addition, other categories may be defined as mandatory, meaning you must retain at least one delivery option as selected. |
Verifying Phone Number and Obtaining Consent for Text Notifications
The PeopleSoft system verifies a phone number by sending you a one-time verification code. The email address is not verified.
Follow these steps to verify your phone number. In this scenario, it is assumed that your phone number does not exist in the PeopleSoft system.
-
On the Notifications page, in the Phone Number field, enter your phone number. Prefix your phone number with the country code. The phone number is displayed in the format that you specified on the General Settings page.
-
Press Enter.
-
Select the I agree to verify my phone number check box.
A six-digit code is sent to your phone, which you need to enter in the Phone Number Verification dialog box.
If an incorrect six-digit code is entered, you can either enter the correct code or select the Resend button to send the six-digit code again. You should note that the system does not generate a new code, but resends the six-digit code again.
-
On successful verification, the Phone number verified message is displayed.
-
Select Save.
-
Select the I agree to give my consent check box.
The Revoke Consent and the Suspend Text Notifications buttons appear.
Consider the following scenarios with regard to existing phone numbers in the PeopleSoft system:
-
Your phone number already exists in the system, that is, you had entered the phone number in the pre-8.62 version. When you upgrade to PeopleTools 8.62, your phone number is considered to be verified, and you will continue to receive text notifications.
-
You have entered your phone number and consented to receive text notifications, but you want to edit the phone number. You can use the edit option for the phone number and after you edit the number, you will be prompted to verify the new phone number. However, you do not have to provide your consent to receive text notifications again.
Selecting and Updating Email Addresses and Phone Numbers
Use the Email Address page or the Phone Number page to select or update your selection of the email address or phone number on which you wish to receive notifications.
This example illustrates the fields and controls on the Email Address page. The Phone Number page, which has similar fields, is not shown here.

The Email Address page and the Phone Number page display your contact information that is entered elsewhere in the PeopleSoft system. On these pages, you can merely select one of the values presented to you; you cannot update them. To update contact information or to enter a new email address or phone number, select one of the values displayed here first. Then, the Update Email Address link (or the Update Phone Number link) will become active. Then, you can click that link to be redirected to the configured application-specific component where you can update your email or phone contact information.
Note:
If no application-specific configuration has been defined on your system, the PeopleTools-delivered configuration will redirect you to My System Profile where you can maintain your email addresses.
