Field or Control Description

Enable Query Timeout

Select or clear this check box to enable or disable the query time-out feature on a system-wide basis. The time-out values are stored in each permission list.

Note: The query timeout feature applies to queries that are run in Query Manager and Query Viewer. This feature does not apply to scheduled queries.

Run Query Statistics

Select or clear this check box to enable or disable the query statistics feature on a system-wide basis.

By default, the query statistics feature is disabled.

PeopleSoft recommends that you use the query statistics feature only for analysis and that you do not leave it enabled on an ongoing basis. Enabling this feature may compromise the performance and the system may have an increased possibility of query time-outs or may return query results with zero values. This recommendation also applies to users of queries in reports.

Query leverages the PeopleTools Integration Broker framework to publish query statistics. If query statistics is not successfully updated, query admin must check the status of the service operation PSQRY_STATS_UPDATE through Service Operation Monitor. The prerequisite for query admin to check this status is that they must have access to permission list PTPT1000.

See Integration Broker: Introduction to PeopleSoft Integration Broker.

Query Data Masking

Select or clear this check box to enable or disable data masking for query.

Using Data Privacy Framework, you can set the length of unmasked characters. This partial masking does not apply if the query returns a value that is shorter than the length of unmasked character setting. Partial masking also does not apply to long character and image fields, which are displayed as a single masked character.

See Security Administration: Data Privacy Framework.

Query Column Mask

Set the data masking character.

If data masking is defined for this query, the mask defined here is applied to data values when this query is used as a data source by:

  • BI Publisher

  • Composite Query

  • Connected Query

  • Feed Publishing Framework

  • nVision

  • Pagelet Wizard

  • PeopleSoft Search Framework

  • Pivot Grid
