About Setting a Workbook as the Default Home Page
You can set a specific workbook as the default home page that users land on when they sign into Oracle Analytics, instead of the ready-to-use home page or a custom home page.
This is useful for consumers who only need to view one workbook and don't need to navigate through Oracle Analytics.
Similar to pages, you can assign a workbook as a default home page directly to individual users, or to groups of users through application roles. You can assign different workbooks as home pages to different users.
Note:
You must have the Manage Default Landing Page Assignments permission to manage home page options for your organization. The workbook must be in a shared folder. When the user opens Oracle Analytics, the workbook displays in Viewer mode by default unless the user has permission to edit the workbook and has configured their settings to open workbooks in Edit mode. The actions the user can perform on the workbook, for example, whether they can view or edit it, depend on their permissions. See Assign Shared Catalog Folder and Workbook Permissions.
If a user has set their own default home page and you assign a workbook as their default home page, your workbook setting overrides the user's setting.
When you assign a workbook as the default home page for a user, it overrides their choice of default home page, if they configured one.
Navigation and Toolbar Considerations
The workbook header bar and toolbar display by default unless the workbook author changes the settings in Present.
The header bar contains the Go back button which takes users back to the home page. If you don’t want the users to access anything else, like the Catalog, make sure the workbook author hides the Go back button for the workbook. See Hide the Workbook Header Navigation Button in Present.
The toolbar contains options such as Refresh Data, Export, and the State Menu. If you want to restrict access to the options in the toolbar, make sure the workbook author either hides the toolbar or limits the options available. See Show or Hide the Workbook Toolbar in Present and Select Workbook Toolbar Options in Present.
