Export and Import B2B Schemas and Documents

You can export and import individual B2B schemas and documents. This feature is useful if you are operating in B2B standalone mode and require an alternative to exporting and importing an entire trading partner, which includes all associated agreement details, along with the schemas and documents.

Guidelines

Export and import of B2B schemas and documents works as follows:

  • You can import multiple schemas, and select to include their associated documents, in a single ZIP file.
  • Files other than documents and schemas are ignored and discarded.
  • At least one schema must exist. Otherwise, an error is displayed because of an invalid schema definition.
  • If you attempt to import a schema that already exists, an error is displayed unless you selected the check box to overwrite the schema.
  • When a schema is linked to an active document, whether it exists in the ZIP or not, no action is taken, and it is not overwritten.
  • If the document is associated with any custom schema, the schema must exist in the ZIP file for import.
  • If all the preceding conditions are met, the schema and documents contained in the ZIP file are either created or updated.
  • Importing the schema(s) from a ZIP file can occur in the following ways:
    • The ZIP file contains only the schema(s).
    • The ZIP file contains the schema(s), along with their associated documents.
    • The ZIP file contains the schema(s) along with their associated or nonassociated documents. If any nonassociated documents are linked to a custom schema, that schema must also exist in the ZIP file. Otherwise, an error is displayed. Standard schema documents can be imported independently.
    • When importing a schema, the ZIP file cannot contain only documents.
