Create A Target Database Group

You can create a target database group to facilitate operations on multiple target databases simultaneously, thereby eliminating the time and effort needed for individual target management.

Create A Target Database Group

  1. Under Data Safe, click Target database groups.
  2. Click Create target database group.
  3. Enter a Group name.
  4. (Optional) Enter a Description.
  5. Select a Condition from the drop-down list.

    Note:

    1. Target database(s) will be added to the group if they fulfill at least one of the conditions defined below.
    2. Target database group membership is limited to the compartment where the group is created and its sub-compartments.
    1. If you selected Compartment, do the following:
      1. Select a Compartment from the drop-down list.
      2. Check Include child compartments if desired.
    2. If you selected Tag, do the following:
      1. Select a Tag Namespace from the drop-down list.
      2. Select a Tag Key from the drop-down list.
      3. Enter a Tag Value.

      Note:

      Tags are considered only within the compartment where the target database group is created and its sub-compartments.
    3. If you selected Target database, do the following:
      1. Select one or more targets in the Target databases field.

        Note:

        Click Change compartment if you want to add targets from another compartment.
  6. Click Add more members to add additional members to the group.
  7. (Optional) Click Show advanced options.
    1. Select a Tag namespace from the drop-down list.
    2. Select a Tag key from the drop-down list.
    3. Enter a Tag value.
    4. Click Add tag to add additional tags.
  8. Click Create target database group.
