Configure

Configuring the Fusion Data Intelligence instances after they have been provisioned includes the following:

  • A Fusion Data Intelligence service administrator configures data extraction, pipelines, reporting parameters, and security assignments.
  • An Oracle Cloud Infrastructure administrator configures network access to the services.
Fusion Data Intelligence configurations comprise:
  1. Prerequisites.
  2. Data configuration.
  3. Reporting configuration.
  4. Security configuration.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure configurations comprise:
  • Access configuration for Fusion Data Intelligence with private endpoints.
  • Network security configuration for Fusion Data Intelligence.

Perform Data Validation

Data validation helps confirm that the data loaded into Fusion Data Intelligence is complete and accurate and that there are no data losses or discrepancies.

This process reviews the initial extract date parameter value selection to bring in all open transactions data from Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications so that no data mismatch between both the applications happens. Data validation testing ensures that data has been loaded correctly and accurately into the Fusion Data Intelligence applications such as Oracle Fusion CX Analytics, Oracle Fusion SCM Analytics, Oracle Fusion ERP Analytics, and Oracle Fusion HCM Analytics.

As a Fusion Data Intelligence system administrator and functional administrator, use the Data Validation feature to compare metrics between your Fusion Data Intelligence instance and your Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence instance, which is an authoritative data validation check. Ensure that the user security setup in Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications and Fusion Data Intelligence is at the same access level for functional validation checks.

Use the checklist to confirm that the action items are planned for. See Perform Data Validation Checklist.

Configure Content

Content in this context refers to the prebuilt analytical visualizations, dashboards, and reports.

Oracle recommends modifying content in the customization phase. However, minor exceptions allow modifying prebuilt content immediately after provisioning.

Ensure that you:
  • Delay any content modifications to the customization phase.
  • If necessary, modify only reporting objects, not the underlying semantic model.
  • Document the modifications so they are included in the customization phase.

See Orientation Get Started with Key Metrics.

This task requires the Fusion Data Intelligence service administrator and Fusion Data Intelligence functional administrator.

Configure Private Network Access (Optional)

This information applies to Fusion Data Intelligence environments provisioned with public IP addresses.

Private Access to Oracle Services, also known as Transit Routing, refers to a network topology in the customer’s network that uses an intermediary to reach the Fusion Data Intelligence services without the network traffic going over the public internet. In this scenario, the intermediary is a dynamic routing gateway attached to both the customer’s network and a virtual cloud network in the Fusion Data Intelligence cloud account. Traffic travels over a FastConnect private virtual circuit or Site-to-Site VPN, through the dynamic routing gateway and a service gateway to the Fusion Data Intelligence services. This topology may currently exist in a cloud account containing services other than Fusion Data Intelligence.
This image shows the private network access configuration.

This task requires a Fusion Data Intelligence service administrator, cloud account network administrator, and on-premises network administrator.

Enable the Preview Features (Optional)

As the Fusion Data Intelligence service administrator or functional administrator, you can view all preview features and choose which ones to enable based on your business requirements.

You can monitor which features have been enabled or disabled through an activity report available under the Activity tab on the Enable Features page. Ensure that you:
  • Review and perform the prerequisites for the features you enable.
  • Enable preview features on a development or test environment first.
  • Allow enough time in your project plan to thoroughly test the preview feature and ensure it is suitable for your needs.
  • Enable the preview features in a production environment only after they have been thoroughly tested and functionality confirmed.

See Preview Features.
