A private bundle is a bundle that can be shared only within the same tenancy, meaning it is limited to users of that tenancy and not exposed as a public bundle for other tenancies.

A public bundle is a bundle that is shared through the Bundle Repository and can be accessed by other tenancies that have the required entitlement, unlike a private bundle which is only visible within the same tenancy.

When the protected bundles feature is enabled, you can protect the data application bundles you publish, and securely distribute the data application bundles in the Bundle Repository. Users can view the protected bundles in the Bundle Repository, but they require approval from the publisher of the protected bundle to import the protected bundle. Users can request access to protected bundles and the publisher can approve or reject the bundle access request. Select Protected to publish a protected bundle.
