The Extension Builder Sign-in enables users to log into an Extension App without having to sign-in again when already signed into a APEX session. The Extension Sign-in Authentication checks for a valid APEX session.

The Builder Extension Sign-in Authentication Scheme enables users to open the Extension app from a APEX session without having to sign-in again with a username and password. Use this authentication scheme with Builder Extension apps published from a workspace that has been configured to host and publish Builder Extension apps.

Administrator Controls

Administrators can enable or disable support for hosting of Builder Extensions at the workspace-level by configuring the Allow Hosting Extensions setting on the Edit Workspace Information page. To learn more, see Editing Workspace Information in Oracle APEX Administration Guide.

21.4.2.1.2 Setting Up Builder Extension Sign-in Authentication

Learn how to set up Builder Extension Sign-in authentication.

To set up Builder Extension Sign-in:

  1. On the Workspace home page, click the App Builder icon.
  2. Select an application.
  3. On the Application home page, click Shared Components.

    The Shared Components page appears.

  4. Under Security, select Authentication Schemes.
  5. On the Authentication Schemes page, click Create.
  6. Select Based on a pre-configured scheme from the gallery and click Next.
  7. Under Name:
    1. Name - Enter the name used to reference the authentication scheme by other application developers.
    2. Scheme Type - Select Builder Extension Sign-in.
    3. Click Create Authentication Scheme.
