2 Installing the Backup Module for Oracle Database Backup Cloud Service
To use Oracle Database Backup Cloud Service for Oracle database backups, you'll need to install the appropriate backup module needed for cloud backups.
Note:
The information provided in this section applies to Oracle Database 19c Release 26 (19.26) and earlier releases.
For Oracle Database 19c Release 27 (19.27) or later and Oracle AI Database 26ai Release Update 23.8 or later, Oracle recommends that you use the simplified procedure to set up the Oracle Database Backup Cloud Service, as described in the Backup and Recovery User's Guide.
The backup module used depends on your backup destination, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic.

You can back up Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.4) and later to Oracle Database Backup Cloud Service. - Installing the Oracle Database Cloud Backup Module for OCI
To back up to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you first need to install the Oracle Database Cloud Backup Module for OCI. You’ll download the module from Oracle Technology Network (OTN) and install it on your database server. - Installing the Oracle Database Cloud Backup Module for OCI Classic
To back up to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic, you first need to install the Oracle Database Cloud Backup Module for OCI Classic. You’ll download the module from Oracle Technology Network (OTN) and install it on your database server.
