Access External Data Using an OCI Connection String

If you use applications developed with Oracle Call Interface (OCI), you can connect Essbase load rules to Oracle Database using the OCI connection string.

Here is an example of the SQL Properties for a load rule that depends on an Oracle Call Interface (OCI) connection string.


SQL Properties dialog. Properties option selected is Oracle Call Interface (OCI). The Server field has the OCI connection string of format DatabaseServerName:PortNumber/ServiceName. A sample SQL query is in the Query field. A User Name and Password are entered.
