Popup Condiment Orderer

The Popup Condiment Orderer is a page on the workstation which displays condiments available for the current menu item. When a menu item using the Popup Condiment Orderer is selected in a transaction, the Popup Condiment Orderer is generated, replacing the current touchscreen with a screen showing all required and (optionally) allowed condiments for the item.

The Popup Condiment Orderer is set up using a special page template in the Page Design module of the Enterprise Management Console (EMC). Page Design settings determine whether the template includes allowed condiments and establish display attributes for the page.

By default, the Popup Condiment Orderer is closed automatically when the required condiments are satisfied and no allowed condiment groups are shown on the orderer. If allowed condiments are shown or the Manually dismiss Condiment Orderer option is set for the Page Design Template, the operator must manually close the Popup Condiment Orderer with the Done key when the condiment selections are completed.

The Popup Condiment Orderer is enabled by assigning the desired Popup Condiment Orderer page in the Revenue Center Parameters module or the Menu Item Class of the parent menu item. Separate assignments determine which template is used during the initial order of the menu item and when an ordered menu item is edited. The Menu Item Class assignment overrides the Revenue Center Parameters assignment if both are defined.

The flexibility in the Popup Condiment Orderer assignment allows restaurants to use the orderer when it would be most useful for the operator, such as for menu items with a lot of customization, for example deli sandwiches. They may opt not to use it for menu items with little customization, for example soup or chocolate cake.
