Specify data classifications for a study role
Data classifications allow you to control which users can view or edit a specific type of question in the study. As a global user administrator or study user administrator, you can assign specific permissions to users depending on what type of classified data they should get access to.
Data classifications are types of data that study designers assign to hidden questions when they want to show those questions only to certain users.
Each type of data classification has two corresponding permissions, to either view or edit that specific type of data. When the right permissions are assigned to a user, data classifications work as exceptions for that user to be able to see any hidden questions in a form.
A user who can view or edit classified types of data in a study, must also be assigned two other separate permissions in the context of a study role. For more details on these permissions, see the Adjudicator topic.
