Deleting Transactions in Transaction Matching

Transactions can be deleted from the Matching dialog or the Jobs page.

Deleting Transactions Using the Unmatched Transactions Tab

If the Service Administrator has allowed deletion of transactions for a given data source, you are able to delete transactions on Unmatched Transactions in case you loaded incorrect or unwanted transactions as part of your data load. If this option is enabled, you will see a Delete icon (X). This means that you can select one or more transactions and delete them. You can also delete all transactions using Select All.

For Transaction Matching profiles that are integrated with Reconciliation Compliance, transactions cannot be deleted if the Accounting Date of one or more transactions in a match set is lower than the Purged Through Date.

Note:

Once you delete a transaction, it cannot be retrieved. The only option is to reload the transaction.

Note:

You cannot delete a supported transaction, a matched transaction, or a transaction that is part of a suggested match. If you need to delete a supported transaction, first unsupport the transaction. Matched transactions can only be deleted when deleting transactions from the Jobs page. See Deleting Transactions from an Import Job.

To delete one or more transactions:

  1. From Home, select Matching. Then select the reconciliation you are working with.
  2. Select the Unmatched Transactions tab.

  3. Select one or more transactions that you need to delete and click the Delete (X).

    Note:

You can also select all transactions by using the Select All check box and then click Delete (X).
  4. You receive a confirmation message to make sure you want to delete these transactions. Click Yes in response to the message. Note that the total number of records has been updated.

Note:

To understand the impact of handling transactions in locked or closed periods, see Closing and Locking Periods.

Deleting Transactions from an Import Job

Users can delete all transactions that were imported as part of an Import Transactions job.

To delete transactions related to an Import Transactions job:

  1. From Home, select Application, and then Jobs.
  2. Click the Transaction Matching tab.
  3. Select the Import Transactions job whose transactions must be deleted.
  4. From the Actions menu, select Delete Transactions.
  5. In the confirmation dialog, click Yes to confirm the deletion.

    Note:

If any of the transactions were matched with an adjustment, select Create Reverse Adjustments to create reverse adjustments. See About Reverse Adjustments.

If you delete a transaction that has already been matched, the system puts the other transaction that is part of the match back into "unmatched" status.

Note:

To delete transactions that were part of an import job that is older than 60 days, see Creating and Running Jobs.
