Set Up Reconciliation of Revenue Lines from Quote Lines

When your users activate a quote from the sales application, reconciliation of revenue lines and quote lines is triggered. Reconciliation is the process of rolling up information from quote line into revenue lines.

Quote line information used for configuration of a product is summarized and presented in a roll up view in revenue lines based on the setup you do.

Here are the steps involved in the setup:

  1. Enable the profile option, ORA_MOO_REVN_RECONCILE_FROM_SO.
  2. Set the reconcile option for quote lines to Root or Part.
  3. Optionally, you can review the opportunity lock time used during the reconciliation process.
  4. Map the attributes of CX Sales and Oracle CPQ to sync revenue lines from quote lines.

The first three steps are included in this topic. For the step 4, see Sales and Oracle CPQ Attributes Mapping to Sync Revenue Lines from Quote Lines.

Step 1: Enable the Profile Option

Here are the steps:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, use the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
    • Offering: Sales
    • Functional Area: Sales Foundation
    • Task: Manage Administrator Profile Values
  2. On the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for the profile option code, ORA_MOO_REVN_RECONCILE_FROM_SO. The default value of Site is set to No.
  3. Change the profile value to Yes and save the changes.
  4. Sign in again for the changes to take effect.

Step 2: Set the Reconcile Option for Quote Lines

You have two types of reconcile options for quote lines: Root and Part. If you sell several standalone parts in your business, then the recommendation is to choose Part. Or, if you sell configured products, such as laptops, the recommendation is to choose Root. As an Oracle CPQ administrator, decide on the option during the analysis and implementation phase and set it to Root or Part based on the business need.

Note: We recommend that you don't change the reconcile option once set. If you do so, you'll lose all the previous data and can't retrieve it.

Here are the steps:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, use the Manage Oracle CX Sales to Oracle CPQ Cloud Integration task.
    • Offering: Sales
    • Functional Area: Integration
    • Task: Manage Oracle CX Sales to Oracle CPQ Cloud Integration
  2. In the Manage Oracle CX Sales to Oracle CPQ Cloud Integration page, in the Revenue Reconcile Option column, select Root or Part.
  3. Save and close the task.
  4. Sign in again for the changes to take effect.

Step 3 (Optional): Review Opportunity Lock During Reconciliation

When a salesperson sets a quote to active, the sales application triggers the reconciliation of revenue lines from quote lines. During this time, the opportunity is locked so that the user doesn't accidentally change anything. By default, this lock is set to 120 seconds. If the reconciliation process takes longer than 120 seconds, the lock continues for the next 120 seconds, and so on, until the reconciliation process ends.

The ORA_MOO_OPTY_LOCK_RELEASE profile option controls this lock time. You can change the default time, if needed. Here are the steps:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, use the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
    • Offering: Sales
    • Functional Area: Sales Foundation
    • Task: Manage Administrator Profile Values
  2. In the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for the profile option code, ORA_MOO_OPTY_LOCK_RELEASE. The default value of Site is set to 120 seconds.
  3. If you're changing this value, save your changes and sign in again for the changes to take effect.
