How You Create an Advanced Report

You can follow the steps provided to create an advanced report.

Here's how you can create and save an advanced report:
  1. From the OTBI home page, click New > Analysis.
  2. Search for Worker Assignment and select the Workforce Management – Worker Assignment Real-Time subject area.
  3. In the Criteria list, expand Worker, then search for and double-click Person Date of Birth.
  4. Click to collapse the Worker criteria.
  5. Click to expand Worker Assignment.
  6. Double-click Assignment Count.
  7. Click the Results tab. You can edit the formula to view the required results.
  8. Click the Criteria tab. For the Person Date of Birth criteria, click the Settings icon and select Edit Formula.
  9. Click the Insert Function.
    1. Click to expand Calendar/Date.

    2. Select TimeStampDiff and click OK.

  10. To change the interval to year, in the Column Formula section:
    1. Select interval and change to sql_tsi_year.

    2. To change to current date in the formula, click to select timestamp2.

    3. Click the Insert Function. In the Functions list, click to select Current_Date. Click OK.

  11. To change the column heading, in the Column Heading:
    1. Click to select the Custom Headings option.
    2. In the Column Heading field, enter Age. Click OK.
    You can view all the current assignments by age.
  12. To view the current assignments by age band:
    1. Click the Results tab, then click the Criteria tab.
    2. In Worker criteria, click the Settings icon and select Edit Formula.
    3. Click the Bins tab. Click Add Bin.
  13. To select a specific age band, example: between 0- 25, do the following:
    1. Click the Operator drop-down list and select is less than. In the Value field, enter 25.
    2. Click OK.
    3. In the Edit Bin Name field, enter 0-25. Click OK.
    4. Click Add Bin. Click the Operator drop-down list and select is between.

    5. In the first Value field, enter 25. In the second Value field, enter 45.

    6. Click OK.

  14. In the Edit Bin Name field, enter 25-45. Click OK.
    1. Click Add Bin. Click the Operator drop-down list and select is between. In the first Value field, enter 46.

    2. In the second Value field, enter 65.

    3. Click OK.

    4. In the Edit Bin Name field, enter 46-65. Click Add Bin.
    5. Click the Operator drop-down list and select is greater than. In the Value field, enter 65. Click OK.
    6. In the Edit Bin Name field, enter 66+.
    7. In the All other values row, click the Edit Bin Name icon, for those who haven't entered any date of birth.
    8. In the Edit Bin Name field, enter No Date of Birth. Click OK.
  15. Click OK.
    You can now view the information by age bands.
  16. To change the column heading: In the Age criteria, click the Settings icon and select Edit Formula.
    1. In the Column Heading field, enter Age Band. Click OK.
    2. Click the Results tab.
      You have a usable report in which the age bands appear in blue. You can click on the age band summary for more information. You can modify the settings to remove this ability.
    3. Click the Criteria tab.
    4. On the Criteria tab, click the Age Band settings icon and select Column Properties.
    5. Click the Interaction tab. In the Column Heading section, click the Primary Interaction drop-down list and select None.
    6. In the Value section, click the Primary Interaction drop-down list and select None.
    7. Click OK.
    8. Click the Results tab.
    You can view the age bands report. You can also re-use the age bands in other reports.
Here are the settings to save the age band for re-using in other reports.
  1. Click the Criteria tab.
    1. On the Criteria tab, click the Age Band settings icon and select Save Column As.
      As age band is based on the common Worker dimension, you can save it in a folder that's not specific to any subject area.
    2. In the Folders list, click to select the Custom folder. Click the UP icon.
    3. Click OK.
      You can drag the age band into any report you want to use, as long as the Worker dimension appears in one of the subject areas in the report.
  2. In the Catalogs list, click to expand Shared Folders. Click to expand Custom.
  3. Click to expand Subject Area Contents. Click the Save As icon.
  4. In the Folders list, click to expand HCM and select HCM Other Reports.
  5. In the Name field, enter Age Band Summary.
  6. Click OK.

Results:

The report is saved and you can use it as required.
