Academic Institutions

An academic institution represents part of the academic and physical structure of a higher education organization.

Configure academic institutions, and other organizational entities such as campuses, to meet your particular business needs. For an organizational structure such as an institutional system or consortium, an academic institution might not be the highest level entity. For an organizational structure that doesn’t include a system office or consortium, an institution is often the highest level entity. An example is a university or college.

Access the Institutions page: From Student Central, click Search and search for Academic Institutions.

You must create at least one academic institution per installation.

Here are some things that you can do:

  • Create multiple institutions per installation.
  • Enter a future start date for an institution.
  • Assign person contacts, location addresses, and identifiers.
  • Create relationships between an academic institution and other entities:
    • A parent relationship with a system office.
    • Child relationships with campuses.
