Define Admissions Application Action Reasons

You will use admissions application action reasons when evaluating submitted applications from prospective students. There are five possible actions. The two delivered values are Activate and Submit. Other options are Add, Admit, Deny, and Waitlist.

You can select any action name to access that action's page; here are some of the things you can do on the page:

  • Assign a reason code and define reasons for the action (for example, the admissions application action Deny can have Not admitted and Application denied as its associated reasons).

  • Set other values such as whether to show the action to the applicant.

  • Review and sort reason codes or duplicate an existing one.

Note: The program the applicant applies to must be set as Admissions Required in Student Records. Otherwise the applicant can't apply to it, and it won't appear as an available program in Form Builder for administrators to add to an application.

In the Setup and Maintenance work area, use the Manage Admissions Application Action Reasons task:

  • Offering: Student Management

  • Functional Area: Admissions Structures
