Associate Business Unit with Legal Employer

You can associate multiple business units with a legal employer. This enables filtering business units by legal employer, on responsive pages that have implemented this feature.You use the Associated Business Units extensible flexfield (EFF) context for the business unit - legal entity association.

These are some key points to note:

• By default, the Associated Business Units context isn't associated with any page. You need to configure the mapping on the Manage Extensible Flexfields page. Thereafter, you can associate multiple business units with the legal employer. Once the context is associated, it appears for all legal employers.

• A legal employer must have at least one associated business unit to filter the business unit by legal employer.

• You can associate multiple business units with a legal employer, but can't associate the same business unit twice with a legal employer.

• You can associate the same business unit with multiple legal employers.

• You can delete the legal employer - business unit association.

• You can associate business units when updating or correcting a legal employer.

• The business unit list of values displays all active and inactive business units configured. There isn't any filtering for only active business units.

• Business units are listed in the ascending order of business unit name.

In this example, Vision Enterprise has 3 legal employers in India - Vision India, Vision Corp India, and Vision India Financial Services. Each legal employer has 5 business units defined. You want to filter the business units according to the Vision India legal employer. So, you associate the business units with the legal employer using the Associated Business Units extensible flexfield context.

Let's look at the steps to update the key values for this association. For other fields, you can use the default values.

Add Context to Manage Legal Entity HCM Information Page

1. Go to My Enterprise > Setup and Maintenance.

2. Search and select the Manage Extensible Flexfields task.

3. Search for Organization Information EFF on the Manage Extensible Flexfields page.

4. Click Edit.

5. Expand the Organization category and select Legal Employer.

6. In the Legal Employer: Details section, select the Associated Business Units delivered context and click the Pages tab.

7. In the Legal Employer: Associated Contexts Details section, click the Select and Add icon.

8. In the Select and Add: Contexts window, enter Associated Business Units in the Name field and click Search.

9. Select the context.

10. Click Apply.

11. Click Save and Close.

12. Select the Organization Information EFF context on the Manage Extensible Flexfields page and click the Deploy Flexfield button.

Associate Business Units to Vision India

1. Go to My Client Groups > Quick Actions > Workforce Structures.

2. Search and click the Manage Legal Entity HCM Information task.

3. Search and click the Vision India legal entity to associate the business units.

4. Click Edit > Update or Correct.

5. Click the Add Row icon in the Associated Business Units section.

6. Search and select these business units.

   Number	Business Unit
   1	Legal
   2	Human Resources
   3	Facilities
   4	Administration
   5	Operations

   Note: As a prerequisite, these business units should already exist.

   Repeat step 5 to add more business units.

7. Click Submit.
