Copy Inventory Organizations

The Copy Inventory Organizations task is used to simplify creating inventory organizations when a source organization is constructed and is suitable to be used as the basis for making a series of copies where the new organizations vary by name, code, and location.

To copy an existing inventory organization:

1. Navigate to the Copy Inventory Organizations task.
2. Select an existing inventory organization to use as the source organization. If the source organization is a master organization, then the newly created organizations will use the source organization as the master organization. If the source organization is a child organization, then the newly created organizations will be a child to the master organization that the source organization points to.
   Note: This is because these settings require choices that are unique. As a result, they can't be copied into the new organizations being created.
3. Select additional information to copy:
   • The Inventory organization parameters checkbox is always selected.
   • The Organization data security checkbox copies the user assignments from the source organization into the newly created organization.
   • If the source inventory organization is a plant, select the Plant parameters checkbox if you wish to duplicate the plant parameters as well. If the Plant parameters checkbox is selected, then the Subinventory structure and Locators checkboxes must also be selected to ensure these values are also copied.
   • The Locators checkbox copies all locators in the source inventory organizations into each new copy. Locators must have a parent subinventory. All subinventories in the source organization will be duplicated in each new copy.
4. For each new inventory organization that you are creating, enter a unique name, unique code, and location.
5. Click the Submit button.
6. Note the process ID.

After you submit the process, you can navigate to the Scheduled Processes monitor to verify that the process completed successfully.
