Enable the Allow Depreciation Override Lookup

To enable your book to override depreciation, you must first enable the Allow Depreciation Override lookup.

1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, search for the Manage Fixed Assets Lookups task.
2. Click the Manage Fixed Assets Lookups link.
3. In the Manage Fixed Assets Lookups page, enter ORA_FA_ALLOW_OVERRIDE in the Lookup Type field.
4. Click Search.
5. Click the Create icon in the Financials Generic Lookup Type section.
6. Enter the book name in the Lookup Code column for the book that you want to enable override depreciation for. Note that the book name you enter must be identical in case and syntax to the book name you entered when you created the book.
7. Enter the reference data set.
8. Ensure the Enabled option is checked for the book.
9. Enter the book name in the Meaning field.
10. Click Save and Close.

Enable Depreciation Override for Your Asset Book

To override depreciation, you must enable the Allow depreciation override option for your book.

1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, navigate to the Manage Asset Books task.
2. In the Manage Asset Books page, enter your book in the Name field and click Search.
3. Click the link to your book.
4. In the Edit Book page, click Advanced Rules in the Rules section.
5. Click the Allow depreciation override checkbox.
6. Click Save and Close.
