Process to Migrate to Version 3 Termination

You run the Migrate Employment Data process to migrate the existing version 2 (V2) termination data to the new version 3 (V3).

You must run this process before you perform termination or resignation using the Terminate Employment or Resign from Employment quick actions. Use the Scheduled Processes work area to schedule and run the process.

Points to Consider

  • Before you migrate to V3, you must first disable V2 termination. If you migrate before disabling V2 termination, you will receive an error message when you try to access V2 termination.
  • You can run the process only once to migrate V2 termination data to the new V3. In principle, after you migrate to V3, you can’t revert to V2.
  • Before you decide to opt for the new V3 termination in a production environment, you must first thoroughly test the feature in a stage environment.
  • If you decide to revert to V2 in the stage environment, you can do so by using the Migrate to V2 Termination diagnostic test. This test can only be run in a stage environment and not in a production environment. For more information about the diagnostic test, refer to this document on My Oracle Support: Migrate to V2 Termination (Doc ID 2851332.1)
  • The Migrate to V2 Termination diagnostic test is intended for use only in stage environments and not production environments. Oracle is not responsible for any possible data corruption or loss of data integrity if the diagnostic test is run in a production environment.
  • The Migrate to V3 Termination process migrates both termination and resignation data from V2 to V3.
    • You can’t just migrate termination data to V3 and retain resignation data in V2.
    • Similarly, you can’t just migrate resignation data to V3 and retain termination data in V2.

Process Parameter

You run the Migrate Employment Data process using the Migrate to V3 Termination parameter.
