Create a Job Requisition Based on a Job

You can create a job requisition by selecting a job to base it upon.

Before you start

You need the privilege Initiate Job Requisition Using Job (IRC_INITIATE_JOB_REQUISITION_FROM_JOB).

Here's what to do

  1. On the Job Requisitions page, click Add.
  2. In the Requisition Type field, select Standard.
  3. In the Use field, select Job.
  4. Select a business unit to narrow down the list of jobs you can select.
  5. Select a job available within your organization.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Complete fields as for a standard job requisition.
  8. Click Submit.

Results:

The following job field values are added by default to the job requisition. You can modify them.

  • Job Family
  • Job Function
  • Regular or Temporary
  • Management Level
  • Full Time or Part Time
  • Job
  • Grade

If the job you selected has a job requisition template associated to it, you can modify the recruiting-specific fields that are pre-populated by the template. For example, Recruiter, Hiring Team, Description.

If a profile is associated to the job, the following field values are defaulted from the profile associated to the job:

  • All fields from the Work Requirements section
  • Internal Description
  • External Description
  • Short Description: The short description is defaulted from the Profile Description of the profile only if the appropriate profile option is set (ORA_IRC_REQ_DEFAULT_SHORT_POSTING_DESC_FROM_PROFILE_DESC_ENABLED).
Note: The following configurations related to profile options are taken into consideration:
  • PER_DEFAULT_GRADE_FROM_JOB_POSITION: The grade value is defaulted if requested with this profile option.
  • PER_ENFORCE_VALID_GRADES: If the profile option is set accordingly, you can only select grades which are valid for this job or position.

Important info about translation. For the translated values of the profile to be defaulted on the job requisition, the desired languages must be active when you create the requisition. To achieve this, a requisition template must be selected on the job from which the requisition is created, and the desired languages must be selected on the requisition template (which will enable these languages on the requisition being created). Translations must also be provided on the requisition template for the translatable requisition values (the Source Language for each language row in the translation editor must be set to the current language). By doing so, the translated values from the profile will be defaulted on the requisition for the languages of the requisition.
