Using Packaged AI Agents
Packaged AI agents come fully delivered and enabled; they're also known as runnable agents. This topic provides some information about the packaged or runnable agents you can find in Oracle Permitting and Licensing.
For more information about AI functionality including runnable agents that don't require AI Agent Studio configuration, see the documentation for the applicable usage.
For more information about enabling runnable AI agents, see Provide Access to Configure AI Agents in Oracle Permitting and Licensing. For each runnable AI agent, the agency enables AI functionality in the Functional Setup Manager and adds appropriate security assignments.
AI Summary of Inspection Comments
The checklist result summary uses AI agents, and by default it's enabled if you have the FSM option enabled for AI functionality for Permits or Business Licenses.
To enable the FSM option:
-
Navigate to Setup and Maintenance of Offerings > Offering: Permits or Business Licenses > Change Feature Opt In.
-
Click the pencil icon in the Features column in the Public Sector Permits or Public Sector Business License row.
-
In the Enable AI Functionality for Permits or Enable AI Functionality for Business Licenses row select the checkbox in the Enable column.
- Click Done.
This enables AI functionality within the entire offering. If you want this inspections feature functionality in both Permits and Business Licenses you must enable this in both offerings.
Before you can use AI functionality including the Inspection Result Summary and Inspection Prior History seeded agents in the Inspector Application, add the duty role ORA_DR_PSC_INSPECTIONS_AI_ASSISTANT_DUTY to the Roles and Permission groups of both CUSTOM_PSC_MANAGE_PERMITS_AGENCY and CUSTOM_PSC_MANAGE_BL_AGENCY. See Security Details for Using the Inspector Application.
The AI-generated checklist result summary on the Inspection Result page in the Inspector Application works on permit and business license inspections to consolidate inspection data, checklist and checklist item outcomes, and all related comments into a concise narrative. For more information about using the checklist result summary in the Inspector Application for permits and business licenses, see Submitting Inspection Results.
The summary highlights major violations, failed items, and—when reference entities are used for permits—the impacted entities (for example, specific building floors) as indicated in comments. Inspectors can optionally save the generated summary as an editable inspection comment.
Plan Review Prescreening Assistant
The AI-driven analysis for plan reviews enables registered public users to check their plan documents. The Check My Plan Documents action tile on the registered public user landing page is preconfigured with the Plan Review PreScreener agent template so that users can upload plan files and receive email results before proceeding with plan review activities.
The Plan Review PreScreener agent template offers AI image recognition and code comparison to assess the completeness and currency of a submitted plan set. Depending on your agency's needs, the agent can inspect common plan package elements such as cover sheet details, professional seals and signatures, owner and project information, code references, site plans, and supporting documentation. It can also cross-reference these items against a standardized preliminary checklist to identify gaps or issues.
The Check My Plan Documents action tile is available to registered public users in the More actions section. When selected, the tile opens an AI prompt drawer over the landing page. From the drawer, registered users upload one or more plan documents using the paper clip attachment icon. After upload, the AI agent evaluates the documents, displays a success indicator, and generates an email notification with results.
Upon successful processing, the AI agent workflow sends a notification, the look of which depends on the agency's implementation of the AI agent.
Processing larger plan files may take several minutes. Users may close the drawer after uploading and entering any text in the Ask Oracle prompt or wait until a Success status is shown.
