Update Credit Memo Information in Oracle Joint Venture Management

After credit memos are created, you must run the process to update the credit memo information to the reversed joint venture distributions.

By default, the process updates credit memo information for reversed distributions that are in Credit Memo in Progress status. You can optionally include reversed distributions in Error status. This enables you to update credit memo information for distributions that initially encountered processing errors but were later successfully credited.

This process also updates the status of reversed distributions to Error if the Import AutoInvoice process fails to create a credit memo due to processing errors.

The process updates the following information for the reversed distributions in the Joint Venture Distributions page:
  • Adds the credit memo number and date in the Invoice Number and Invoice Date fields, respectively.

  • Updates the Invoice Type field to Credit Memo.

  • Updates the distribution status to Process Complete.

The following example shows a reversed distribution for which a credit memo was created:

This image shows the drill down page of the Joint Venture Distributions page. The values in the Receivables Transaction Details section shows that the distribution selected for review is a reversed distribution for which a credit memo was created.

To run the process to update credit memo information for reversed distributions:

  1. Open Scheduled Processes and access the Process Joint Venture Adjustments job.

  2. For the Processing Mode, select Update Receivables Credit Memo Information in Distributions.

  3. For the Process Distributions in Error option, select “Yes” to process all reversed distributions, including those distributions in Error status.

    The AutoInvoice Import process didn’t create credit memos for these distributions due to processing issues. This option enables you to update the credit memo details for reversed distributions that initially ran into errors but were resolved and credit memos were successfully created.

  4. Select Submit.

    After the process completes, you can review the processing details in a report. To access the report, select the Process Details tab, select the “…more” link next to Attachment, and then select the .txt file.
