Custom domain to access Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications

A Fusion Applications environment is provisioned with two domains – application domain and vanity domain. You can’t modify the application domain but you can configure a user-friendly vanity domain for your Fusion environment (such as apps.vision.com) to suit your business needs.

As the tenancy administrator or Fusion Applications environment administrator, you can define a custom vanity domain in one of these ways:

  • Add a friendly prefix to the Oracle-assigned domain
  • Configure your own custom domain with your company's branding, such as apps.vision.com

You can configure a custom, user-friendly vanity domain based on your business needs.

Steps to enable and configure

Apply the weekly maintenance pack

If your environment was updated to 26B in April or May, request the 15-May-26 Weekly Maintenance Pack for Fusion Middleware before configuring a vanity domain for your Fusion Applications environment.

Add a friendly prefix

You can add a custom prefix to the Oracle-assigned domain when provisioning the environment, in the format <prefix> + <existing Oracle-assigned domain>, such as visionapps-abcdef.fa.ocs.oraclecloud.com. This prefix permanently becomes part of the Oracle-assigned domain. See Add a custom prefix. After the environment is provisioned, if you want to use a different prefix, you'll need to configure a vanity domain.

Configure your own custom domain with your company’s branding

You can configure the vanity domain by registering a custom subdomain with your company's branding, such as apps.vision.com.

  1. Create the vanity domain for the Fusion Applications environment.
  2. Update the DNS records for the new vanity domain with your domain registrar.
  3. Configure a new SSL certificate for the vanity domain.
  4. Schedule the vanity domain update for the environment.

Tips and considerations

  • The vanity domain only applies to applications that are currently accessed using the Oracle-provisioned application domain.
  • The application domain is immutable and you must use it for any integrations that are done, for example, using REST APIs and deep links. Don't use the vanity domain even if it's configured, because the vanity domain can change.
  • You can update the vanity domain once. If you need to change it again, ask your help desk to contact Oracle Support.
  • If you previously configured a vanity domain for the candidate experience in Oracle Recruiting, you must make a minor adjustment to your Oracle Recruiting setup so that the two vanity domains can coexist. See Recruiting Vanity URL Coexistence with Fusion Vanity URL in Oracle Fusion Cloud Recruiting 26B What's New.

Access requirements

You must have access to the Oracle Cloud Console.
