Billing To Do Dashboard Portal

The new Billing To Do Dashboard portal enables supervisors and analysts to identify high-priority billing exceptions and to identify increases in specific types of exceptions. This release includes the following zones on the Main portal tab:

  • Non-Complete To Dos Per Bill Cycle: Displays the number of non-complete To Do Entries for each bill cycle, by To Do Role and due date, helping identify those high-priority To Do Entries to be resolved before the cycle closes.  Additionally, you can filter the display by To Do Type, CIS Division, Customer Class and/or Bill Cycle.
  • Non-Complete To Dos Per Message: Provides quick insight into the most frequent types of billing exceptions based on grouping of messages, if applicable, or individual error messages. A sudden rise in unexpected messages may indicate a broader issue. Additionally, you can filter the display by To Do Type, To Do Role, CIS Division and/or Customer Class.

Selecting a specific count or bar on any of the these zones navigates you to the Details portal tab, which displays the list of applicable To Do Entries. Additionally, you can search for To Do entries using various attributes of the entries, and perform specific actions on selected To Do Entries.

This empowers billing supervisors and analysts to efficiently and effectively manage, analyze, and resolve billing exceptions, enhancing billing accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Steps to Enable

To enable this feature, complete these steps:

  1. Add the To Do Type Category (F1-TDCAT) characteristic to applicable billing-specific To Do Types with a value set to "C1BILL (Billing)".
  2. Add a new Billing To Do Dashboard Configuration master configuration, if it does not exist already, and configure or update accordingly:
    1. For the Non-Complete To Dos Per Bill Cycle zone, define the Maximum Open Bill Cycles to Retrieve option. If undefined, the internal default limit is 10.
    2. For the Non-Complete To Dos Per Message zone, configure the applicable Display Mode:
  • If Display Mode is "Messages", define the Maximum Messages to Retrieve. If undefined, the internal default limit is 50.
  • If Display Mode is "Message Groups"
    • Define the Maximum Message Groups to Retrieve. If undefined, the internal default limit is 25.
    • Add a Lookup Value to the Billing To Do Message Group Lookup (BILL_TODO_MSG_GROUP_FLG) for every Message Group.
    • Add unique Message Category/Message combinations for each Message Group to group messages together.
  1. Add the Statistics Control Monitor (F1-STATS) batch control with/without implementation-specific batch parameters to your batch scheduler to initiate automated creation of statistic snapshots used by the new portal zones.

Tips And Considerations

  • For the Non-Complete To Dos Per Bill Cycle portal zone, the To Do Entry counts are retrieved from snapshots captured using the Non-Complete To Dos Per Bill Cycle Snapshot (C1-NCToDoPerBillCycleSnapshot) business object. Refer to the business object configuration for more details.
  • For the Non-Complete To Dos Per Message portal zone, the To Do Entry counts are retrieved from snapshots captured using the Non-Complete To Dos Per Message Snapshot (C1-NCToDoPerMessageSnapshot) business object. Refer to the business object configuration for more details.
  • The suggested frequency for running the Non-Complete To Dos Per Bill Cycle Snapshot and the To Dos Per Message Snapshot is at least twice a day (example, once in the morning after the TD-BSERR batch process runs, and another before the next BILLING process runs at night). These processes can be run more frequently as per your business needs.

Access Requirements

System administrators should review and determine which user groups should be granted access to the application service Billing To Do Dashboard Portal (C1BTDDSH).
