Ability to Create Global Rules in Reconciliation Compliance
Global rules are rules that are defined at the application level. Depending on the filter condition set for a global rule, it can be applicable to all profiles and reconciliations or a set of profiles and reconciliations in your application. The Runs When property of a global rule specifies when the rule runs and users can set this property for Set Attribute Value rules. By default, global rules are disabled at creation. Once a global rule is enabled, it takes effect immediately, in all periods that are not locked. Service Administrators can create and manage global rules.
In Account Reconciliation, the order of execution of rules is as follows:
- Global rules
- Format rules
- Profile Rules
The Set Attribute Value rule has been enhanced and can be used to:
- set an attribute’s value by copying the value from another attribute, calculated attribute, balance attribute, or predicted attribute.
- set the values of multiple attributes using a single rule
The User Interface for creating format rules and profile rules is enhanced. Separate tabs are used to define each aspect of the rule definition such as properties and filter conditions.
A new job status, Warning, is introduced for Set Attribute Value rules. This status indicates that the job ran successfully, but some warnings generated. Users can check the warning details and take necessary actions.
Business Benefit: The benefits provided by this feature include the following:
- Reduced complexity, improved usability, and time savings
- Defining a rule at the application level eliminates the need to define the same rule in multiple formats and profiles.
- You can use a Set Attribute Value rule to copy a balance attribute, predicted attribute, or calculated attribute value into a new attribute. This eliminates the need to create complex rule conditions in order to set multiple attribute values.
- Enhanced control and efficiency in managing and running rules
Changes to rule definitions are managed efficiently. When a rule condition changes, this change can be made once in the global rule and it does not need to be made in multiple format and profile rules. - Improved visibility into when a rule is run
- Improved issue reporting through the new Warning status
