For certain manufacturing industries, the reporting or recovery of additional production outputs such as waste needs to be captured repeatedly during work order processing to support accurate traceability and costing.

You can now complete a co-product or by-product multiple times in a process manufacturing work order without creating a separate work order. You can also plan for and cost each instance of the output item for the work order operation.

Extending a unique instance of an item in an operation or across operations from the work definition to a work order and its transaction allows manufacturers to individually track manufacturing execution, planning, and costing.

Steps to Enable and Configure

Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Tips And Considerations

  • The primary product can be associated with only one operation, but the co-product and by-product can be associated with multiple operations.
  • The co-product and by-product can be associated only once within an operation in a process work definition and process manufacturing work order.

  • Manage Work Order Operations (WIP_MANAGE_WORK_ORDER_OPERATIONS_PRIV)
  • Report Operation Transactions (WIP_REPORT_OPERATION_TRANSACTIONS_PRIV)
  • Report Material Transactions (WIP_REPORT_MATERIAL_TRANSACTIONS_PRIV)
  • Report Postproduction Transactions (WIE_REPORT_POSTPRODUCTION_TRANSACTIONS)
