Complete Work Order Operations with Details at Workstations

Welcome to the demo of the 24D feature, complete work order operations with details at workstations. With this quarterly update to executing production at a workstation, production operators can now perform inline quality inspections and report backflush material transactions while executing operations at a workstation.

This enables real time, contemporaneous, and accurate reporting of quality inspection results and material consumption during work order operation execution. Now let's look at a short demo of this feature.

I would launch the execute production at a workstation task, check in to a workstation, select a work order and an operation. The operation has an associated inspection plan and materials that need to be backflushed. I would start execution, enter the inspection results, report the backflush material transaction details, and submit. The quantities would be automatically reported as accepted or rejected.

I am navigating to the work execution work area in supply chain execution. I launched the task Execute Production at a Workstation.

The workstation is already selected for me from previous executions. I check in to the workstation.

I select the work order that I am going to execute. I'm looking at the work order operation details and notice that there is a quality inspection plan associated with it. I look at the quality inspection plan details and then start execution. Now I'm ready to report some quantities.

I enter the quantity and click on Inspect and Complete. I enter the quality inspection results. The values are defaulted here due to the parameter in the quality inspection plan. I click on Continue.

Now I am verifying the backflush material transaction details. If there were controlled components, that is the components were lot or serial controlled, I would be able to enter the lot and serial numbers in this page. I click on Submit. The quantity is automatically reported as completed since the inspection plan deemed it as accepted.

Whether the backflush materials page is shown or not is determined by two parameters. The first one is the plant parameter-- Allow quantity changes during backflush. If this parameter is set to both or none, then the backflush page is always shown. If this parameter is set to none or resources, then the backflush materials page is only shown if the operation materials has a controlled component that requires a lot or serial number to be entered by the operator. This could be true for the current operation that's being executed or preceding automatically transacted operations.

This feature has two child features in this release-- Report Material Transactions for a Work Order Operation Executed at a Workstation and Perform Inline Inspections When Executing Production at a Workstation. You can look at their demo and feature description on the links given here. Thank you.
