Redwood: Manage Manual Adjustments for Customer Rebate Programs
This demo will show you how you can create and manage manual accrual adjustments for customer programs.
Users need the ability to create manual accrual adjustments to quickly add missed accruals and reverse invalid accruals. General operations can also use this functionality to create starting balances or remove excess balances. The business outcome is that it improves the robustness of the solution.
I'm going to give you a manual adjustment demo, how to create a manual adjustment for a missed accrual for a particular program belonging to Seven Corporation. So I'm starting here at the checkbook for Seven Corporation, drill down to the programs that it has. In this case it only has one. So manual adjustments are made in the context of a customer and a program.
So here's the program. You can see, we have a new tab called Adjustments. This is where they will all reside. I have three existing ones already. And we support a number of search filters to help you identify an adjustment.
So let's go and create one. So we're going to go to Actions, Create a Manual Adjustment. And from here, I'm going to select the increase earned, that's what I'm trying to do. We allow you to configure a default adjustment reason, or the user can also pick one if you so choose. In this case, the Bill To is for Seven Corporation.
There it is, I want the primary bill to. You can also provide a invoice number if you want and a date. If you do provide one, we will validate it against existing sales transactions. When you make the adjustment, you can do so either at the product level or at the program level.
If you want to do it at the program level, you would turn this switch off and then enter the value here. Let's say you want 13,000. All right. But in this case, I'm going to continue with the demo and do this by product, so that I can get my GL and my adjustment at the product level for more accurate posting.
I can choose to have the same beneficiary or specify a different one. We have more, which reveals some fields that are automatically derived. You can change them here if you want, namely owner and the requested accounting date.
Below that is products. I'm going to add a product, and I want AS54999. And I'm going to make an adjustment for $3,000. I can add another one for AS72111 for $10,000. OK, so there's my 13,000 by product. I can also add notes and attachments to help support this adjustment. That's going to help create an audit trail for me. And I'm just going to submit it for approvals.
You see right away that in the checkbook, that extra 13,000 has been included in the earned. In the Adjustment tab, you see the new adjustment that I just created for $13,000. And I can search for a specific item in an adjustment across adjustments here for the program.
And for instance, that's an example of in two adjustments, so I don't have to dig. I can do that using the search. OK. So that concludes my demo for creating manual adjustments. Thank you.
