Redwood: Use the Improved Inventory Management Landing Page
Welcome to the demonstration of the 25B Redwood feature, use the improved inventory management landing page.
This feature gives you the ability to utilize scoreboard cards to view key performance metrics within your warehouse. You can navigate to commonly used actions and all actions across inventory management. You can also customize the landing page by adding OTBI-based KPIs and visualizations.
It also provides a complete materials management solution, enabling you to manage the flow of material inbound to your organization, outbound from your organization, and within your organization. And finally, the new Oracle Inventory Management landing page provides you with an experience that's optimized for productivity and faster performance, improving readiness for warehouse execution.
This demonstration will cover three scenarios. First, we'll review the inventory management landing page. Next, we'll learn how to add OTBI-based KPIs and visualizations to the landing page. And finally, we'll create a KPI and visualization using the visualization configurations tool.
Let's start on the Supply Chain Execution home page. We'll access the new Inventory Management landing page by clicking the navigation tile Inventory Management. The new inventory management landing page is enabled using an inventory profile option. The existing navigation tile will be renamed to Inventory Management Classic.
There are four seated scoreboard cards on the Inventory Management landing page: Inbound Shipments, Item Stockouts, Cycle Counts, and Outbound Shipments. The inbound shipments scoreboard card displays inbound shipments due in the last seven days. Item stockouts displays stockouts by inventory location. Cycle counts shows the number of late cycle counts in the last 30 days. And lastly, the outbound shipments scoreboard card will show those shipments with a scheduled ship date due in the last seven days.
Once a scoreboard card is selected, you can view the details of the card. For example, when selecting the inbound shipments card, you can view details such as the inbound shipment number and supplier. Save search functionality is also provided, allowing you to create your own saved searches. You can click the shipment number to navigate to the inbound shipments page to view further details of a specific shipment.
You can add OTBI-based KPIs and visualizations to the landing page. For example, you may want to add a visualization to view the item quantity for a high-priority item. You can easily navigate to other pages by clicking the tasks under the Actions region. You can also click the View All Actions link to open the Actions drawer to view additional actions across inventory management.
Within the actions drawer, you can search for a specific action or an action category. You can optionally pin a frequently used action so it appears by default on the inventory management landing page. For example, let's go ahead and pin item supply and demand. Pinning the action will allow it to appear under the Actions menu on the Inventory Management landing page.
You can easily navigate between the scoreboard cards. For example, let's go ahead and click the outbound shipments scoreboard card. Once the outbound shipments scoreboard card is selected, the landing page will be refreshed showing the outbound shipment details. Here you can view the outbound shipments due in the last seven days.
Next, we'll learn how to add OTBI-based KPIs and visualizations to the inventory management landing page. You can edit the page layout provided you have been provisioned, the privilege configure OTBI reports on Inventory Management landing page. This functionality is typically reserved for the supply chain application administrator.
Click Edit Page Layout to open the landing page in edit mode. Once you are in the Edit Page, click the Library button to access KPIs and visualizations. You can search for a visualization and drag and drop it into the region on the Inventory Management landing page.
For example, in this case, we have searched for visualization called on hand quantity for item INV-112. This is a bar chart visualization that we've created. Once we have identified the visualization, you can simply drag it and drop it into the main region of the landing page.
Similar to a visualization, you can also search for a KPI. In this case, we have a KPI named on-hand quantity for item INV-100. Once we've identified the KPI, we can simply drag and drop it into the scoreboard card region. Once you have exited the Edit mode, you'll be able to see this new scoreboard card displayed along the top of the inventory management landing page.
Once you are satisfied with your landing page edits, you can click the Exit Edit Mode button to return to the landing page. We are now back in the landing page. As you can see, we've added a new scoreboard card, on-hand quantity INV-100. And we've also added a bar chart visualization where you can see the item INV-112 across the various subinventories.
The final demonstration scenario involves creating a KPI and visualization using the visualization configurations tool. You can create an OTBI analysis by navigating to the Reports and Analytics work area. In this example, we've created an analysis for item INV-100. This is a high priority item for us, and we want to see the item quantity within an organization across the various subinventories. Once we've created this OTBI analysis, we'll display the KPI on the inventory management landing page.
In order to display KPIs and visualizations on the Inventory Management landing page, you must perform additional configurations in the visualization configurations page. Please see the URL below for details on how to access this page. You can change the server name to your specific server using the URL listed below.
You can create a visualization to display a custom scoreboard card. The source type associated with the visualization is OTBI analysis. You can search for the analysis you previously created in OTBI. To display the scoreboard card KPI, select visualization type of metric card. Next, enter configuration details, including primary metric, secondary metric, description type, and description.
Once you've completed your changes, set the status to active. Review your configuration to ensure it is accurate. Once completed, click the Create button. Let's now create a visualization. You can create visualization types such as pie chart, line chart, and bar chart.
Let's select visualization type bar chart. Select visualization details, including x-axis, value, and categorized by. Review the visualization to ensure it is accurate. Once you are satisfied with the visualization, click the Create button. This concludes the demonstration of this feature. Thanks for watching.
This is the end of the feature demo. Thank you.
