Explore the new Visual Builder Studio Business Rules in the Benefits Summary Page

Hello, and welcome to this 25B demonstration of Oracle Cloud Benefits Business Rules in the Benefits Summary page.

With these new features you will be able to use visual builder studio to configure fields and regions for a selected pages and control or extend the page behavior using page properties. Businesses need greater flexibility and control over the benefits administration pages to improve clarity and the user’s experience.

Using visual builder studio to customize fields and page behavior gives greater flexibility and improved functionality for administrators.

During this demonstration I will teach you how visual builder studio can help you personalize the benefits summary page by:

  • Adding person information header attributes,
  • Extending default attributes,
  • Hide the self-report a life event region,
  • Hide the view report button on view enrollments,
  • Show dependent and beneficiary person number on view enrollments,
  • Show the total cost region for flex programs,
  • And Show the event name on the plan or program cards.

I will be making changes on the benefits summary page so I will navigate to benefits administration, and then select the benefits activity center.

I will select an employee, which will take me to the benefits summary page.

To enter visual builder studio I will go up to settings and actions and then click on Edit page in visual builder studio.

Once the visual builder studio edit page opens I will verify I am in the express mode.

The first enhancement I will show you is how to add person information header attributes. In the page properties area scroll down till you find the show assignment number attribute. Listed here are the ten attributes you can select from. To enable the attribute you simply change the false value to true.

We’ll do that to the business title, the business unit, and let’s show the job name and then let’s show the work email address. You can show up to four attributes in the header area. Notice this employee only shows three attributes. And that is because he does not have a work email address.

Next I will show you how to hide the self-reported life events region. Return to the page properties area. Scroll down until you find the show self-reported life events attribute, change the true value to false. If I scroll down I can now see that the self-reported life events region has been removed. And If I scroll up to the top, it has also been removed from the overview area. The next feature allows you to extend defaulted attributes on the benefits court orders, benefits relationship, billing, person benefit balances, person benefit groups, person info and the self-reported life events.

To extend these fields click on configure fields and regions button. Listed here are the regions I can extend for the benefits summary page. I can Expand each region to see the fields that can be extended. I will create a rule by clicking on the plus icon and enter in a label and then click create. I can create conditions if I need to specify who can see these rules.

Clicking in the conditions region I can select whether the rules apply for all or any.

We have defaulted a few conditions here for you, you can also select from the object context, you can do field values or users. I’m not going to have any conditions, so then I will click on done.

In the regions and field area I can go through here and make fields visible like these in the potential life events area.

If I scroll down I can see areas where I can make fields required or optional or read only.

Once I finished making changes I will click on the preview icon, which will open up a new browser window.

Once the preview page opens I will verify that the fields are displayed. Scrolling down to the potential life events area I can see the fields I enabled displayed here.

If I am happy with the changed I will return to the visual builder studio edit page and click on publish.

To enable the fields for the court order or benefits group or benefit balances I can come up to my filters area and type in the page, click it from the list of values.

Once the pages opens I can go into configure fields and regions and create a rule and change them from hidden to visible.

The last enhancements are for view enrollments page within the enrollment flow. I will scroll down to enroll. Once the page opens I will go up to settings and actions. And select edit pages in visual builder studio.

Once the page opens I will see our new attributes in the page properties area.

You can now show dependents and beneficiary person number on the program or plan selection. Show the total cost region for flex programs, show the life event name on program cards, show unrestricted event name on program card and hide the view report button on view enrollments.

Let’s change these from false to true.

And then to verify my changes I will go up to the preview icon which will open up in a new browser window.

Once the preview page opens I can verify my changes. Here I can see the life event name has been added to the program card.

If I click on the View Enrollments button, I can see that the view reports button has been removed.

And that the total cost per pay period has been added for my flex program. And if I scroll down I can see that the person number has been added for the dependents. If I am happy with my changes I will return to the visual builder studio edit page and click on publish.

This concludes this demonstration. Thank you for watching.
