Hide Annual Cost by Plan in the Redwood Benefit Enrollment Pages

Welcome to this demonstration of the 25C, Hide Annual Cost by Plan in Redwood Benefit Enrollments within HCM Benefits.

This new feature adds the ability to hide the annual cost for a specific plan within the redwood benefit enrollment pages.

Organizations may have strategic, compliance, or competitive reasons to prevent employees from seeing the full annual cost of certain benefit plans during enrollment.

This can help reduce confusion, focus attention on other relevant plan comparisons, or comply with company policy regarding cost disclosure.

Benefits Administrators can now customize enrollment pages displayed by selectively hiding annual cost information, creating tailored enrollment experiences that align with organizational communication strategies and employee engagement preferences.

Let’s start with doing a quick overview of this new feature.

By default, annual rates are displayed, action must be taken to hide the annual rates in the redwood enrollment pages.

The export and import benefit plan configuration processes have been updated to include the new hide annual rate field.

Standard rates need to have an activity type of employee contribution and unit of measure of money or null.

Updates to include the new field have been added to the benefits setup diagnostic report and the person benefits diagnostic report.

Total annual amount will be hidden for the entire program or plan not in program.

And hide annual rate field have been added to the benefits activity center in the enrollment result drill down.

Now lets’ take a look at this feature in more depth.

I have logged in as user with access to the benefits administration and self-service enrollment pages. To hide the annual rate on a specific plan, navigate to benefits administration, and then click on plan configuration.

Click on the plans tab, enter the plan you wish to update and change your effective as of date, then click on search.

We’ll enter our plan, once the page opens click on the additional configuration or train-stop 2. Click on the actions drop-down and click either update or correct, whichever meets your requirements.

And then select the hide annual rate.

And then click on save and close.

Now let’s look at the self-service enrollment pages. I will navigate to Me, and then benefits. I will select the enrollment button. Under enroll in benefits that matter to you, I will select the edit button. Which will take me into the enrollment flow. First let’s look at the PPO plan, under view details. I can see that the annual amount has been removed.

If I click on enroll and then click on show coverage and rates I can also see that the annual amount has been removed.

Now let’s look at a plan we did not remove the annual amount for such as the healthcare spending.

We’ll look at view details. I can see our annual amount listed here.

And if I enroll under the coverage and rates area, I can see the annual is also listed. Staying in the same plan type grouping, if I scroll up to the total cost per pay period area, I click on our hyper-link I can see the annual amounts have been removed for here also. Now let’s look at a different plan type grouping, I select my dental and vision. And we’ll enroll into the dental plan here and I will click on show coverage, I can see the annual amount is listed. We did not hide it for this plan. And if I look under view details I can see the annual amount. And staying in the same plan type grouping, if I click on the total cost I can see the annual amount is listed here also. Now let’s click on submit and review. In the total cost per pay period region, I see the annual total cost has been removed. If I scroll down I can see our plan that we have hidden the annual amount not listed.

But on those plans that we do have the annual amount listed, such as the FSA and the dental we’ll see that value here.

I‘ll click on submit.

If I click on the view enrollments button.

Here I can also see that the total annual amount has been removed. And in the enrollment details on those plans where we have hidden the annual amounts not visible but on those plans where we have the annual amount displayed, we can see them listed here. I will go back to the landing page and if I scroll down to the view all enrollments.

Here I can also see that the total annual amount has been removed, and for the plans listed below, those that we have hidden the annual it is not listed but those plans that we wish to show the annual amount we can see that here. Now, let’s go to the benefits activity center to see the changes made there. If I scroll down and click on the plan that I’ve made updates to. In the basic details region I can see a new field called hide annual rate, it’s set to yes for this plan because we set it up to not be displayed.

This does not hide it here within the benefits activity center it only lets you know it is hidden from the employee. If I scroll down to the rates sections I can see the annual amount is listed here. I will return back to the benefits summary page, if I scroll down and click on my enroll button.

And I select view enrollments.

Here I can also see that the total annual amount has been removed from the total cost per pay period region. And down below on those plans where the annual amount has been hidden it is not displayed. But those that we want the annual amount displayed we can see that here.

We’ll close our drawer.

If I were to go into edit and make elections I would see the same setup as we saw just a few moments ago with the employee self-service pages.

Now let’s look at the changes made to the diagnostic reports. On the benefits setup diagnostic test a new table has been added. If I scroll down to the bottom of the report, I will see the new table list of plans with hide annual rate setup. Here you will see all of the different plans with this checkbox checked. The person benefits diagnostic test has also been updated with a new column added to the Enrollment Details table.

Scroll down to the enrollment details area, if I scroll all the way to the right you will see a new column called hide annual rate on self-service. This concludes this demonstration.

You can refer to the 25C What’s New documentation for more information on this feature.
