Report Orderless Transactions Using a New User Experience

Welcome to the demo of the 25C feature report orderless transactions using a new user experience. This feature allows you to report product completion using a work definition in the Redwood user experience without creating a work order. You can also report material and resource usage, product scrap, and return of these orderless production transactions.

Lean manufacturers need an efficient way to report production completion without creating work orders and reporting the operation by operation processing. Production operators in these environments also report the materials and resources used as products are produced, often at a high production rate. With this update, operators can quickly and efficiently report the completion of a product. They can report additional details, such as lot numbers and serial numbers when it's mandated for the product being reported.

In this demo, we will see how you can quickly report an orderless transaction. Then we will see how you can report additional details along with the completion. We will also review the type of transactions you can perform. I am logged in as a production operator.

I will now go to the Work Execution work area under Supply Chain Execution. The Redwood profile option has been enabled for this feature. The task Report Orderless Transactions launches the Redwood page to perform the same. For ease of access, this task can also be pinned. Let us see how quickly and easily a product can be completed.

To quickly report an orderless transaction, you just need to select a transaction type and enter an item number. I am providing an item number that has a valid work definition. You can change the default quantity and the work definition before submitting. The action Save and Transact Another allows the user to submit the transaction and stay on the page for the next transaction.

If the product is serialized, you will specify a serial number and then submit the transaction. You can pick from the list. This time I will also use the "Print label" checkbox to generate the label for this product and then save it. The transaction first generates the label. Now I can see the label being downloaded. Then the transaction is complete.

Using Complete with Details allows for details to be provided. In the Backflush page, you can provide serial and lot numbers and issue ad hoc materials. In the Resources page, you can review the resources that can be charged. In the Product page, you can enter lot and serial numbers for the product if your assembly or components are controlled, completion with details is required.

The default transaction mode is complete. You can also perform other transaction types. Let us see how a scrap can be reported. To report a scrap transaction, you will provide the item number and quantity. A reason code can also be provided. You will simply save the transaction.

To perform a return transaction, select the appropriate type. In this case, I am returning a completed product. Enter the item number for the return along with the quantity or a serial number. Return can be a useful way to re-issue a transaction with corrected information.

To recap, the Redwood experience for orderless reporting is enabled through a profile option. The orderless transactions Redwood page can be accessed as a task from Work Execution landing page. You can perform the transaction types, complete, scrap, return, and return from scrap. For reporting controlled products and components, detailed reporting is required. This concludes the demonstration for this feature. Thank you for watching.
