Export and Import Smart Operations Configurations

Welcome to the demo of the 25c feature, export and import smart operations configurations. With this update, you can easily export and import smart operations configuration settings for performance metrics, reason codes, and unit of measure overrides for work centers within a manufacturing plant.

Use functional Setup Manager, FSM, to streamline the deployment and update of smart operations configurations. This approach ensures consistent setup across environments and reduces the risk of manual errors. Quickly migrate smart operations configurations between environments to support efficient rollout and ongoing maintenance.

In this demo, we will show how to export and import smart operations configurations parameters. We are now signed in as manufacturing engineer. Click the Settings and Actions icon and then click Setup and Maintenance. This displays the Functional Setup Manager page.

Click the dropdown button next to the Setup option. Select Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management option. Next, scroll down and select Manufacturing Master Data. This displays the manufacturing master data tasks. Select All Tasks.

The Smart Operations Configurations tasks display. Click the dropdown button next to this task. Select Export to CSV File. Click Create New. The details of the file to be exported are shown. After verifying the details, click Submit. This displays a confirmation message box. Click OK, to accept.

We are back on the Functional Setup Manager page with the Smart Configurations task selected. Click the dropdown button next to the task and click the Ready for Download option. The summary of the downloaded file is shown. Click Download File. The system downloads a zip file which contains the CSV files. Open the zip file to view the details.

Let's open the file Production Execution Parameter and view its content. The configuration parameters for the organization code, target metrics, unit of measurement, operator assignment, override unit of measure flag, and override UOM default at work center level are shown here.

You'll also notice that the downloaded file displays the following target values for the organization SCMDISFM as follows. Plan Adherence at 100%, OEE at 85%, Availability at 100%, Performance at 95%, and Quality at 100%.

Let's begin by importing a CSV file using the Functional Setup Manager. Start by creating a CSV file and entering the values you want to import. In this example, we've already prepared a CSV file for import. For the organization SCMDISFM, we'll be importing the following metrics, plan adherence, overall equipment effectiveness, or OEE, Availability, performance, and quality.

As part of the import, we'll be updating the target values as follows. Plan Adherence is changed from 100% to 95%, OEE remains at 85%, Availability is revised from 100% to 95%, Performance remains at 95%, and Quality is revised from 100% to 95%.

On the Functional Setup Manager page, select the Smart Operations Configurations task and click the dropdown arrow. Select Import From CSV File and then click Create New. Note that you have to create a zip file before uploading. We have already created it. Upload the zip file.

Review the summary of the uploaded file and click Submit to confirm. A confirmation message is displayed. Click OK to continue. We will now check the status of the file upload and we see that the file is ready for validation. Click Ready for validation. This displays a message that the import has been completed successfully.

Now navigate back to the Smart Operations Configurations page. The Smart Operations Configurations page is displayed. Here we can see that metrics have been updated with the imported values. This brings us to the end of the demo. Thank you.
